The BRODIX -4 has 24 degree valve angles that have been rolled 2° from stock to produce more torque and less chamber volume.
The -4 has a RAISED intake port design (approximately .400”) allowing the short-turn radius a better air flow angle without sacrificing velocity.
Our competitors offer a similar version of these heads, but they have larger intake ports in the stock location. The competitor’s low profile head slows down the air speed making the engine extremely lazy.
When these heads were designed for larger cubic inch engines, they incorporated the most important things: correct port shape, volume, and velocity. If you want to take the next step up from a standard valve angle cylinder head, the BRODIX -4 is the ticket. The BB-4 comes in two versions, an as cast 340cc port that flows 360 cfm at .700" lift and a CNC 390cc port that flows 447 cfm at .800" lift. For a flow chart click on Technical Information below. On all complete assembly packages, it is very possible that the valve springs are not correct for your camshaft. All valve springs should be checked for compatibility to your camshaft. Severe wear of valve train components and severe engine damage could result from failure to do this. Check spring requirements before heads are installed on the engine. If in doubt please contact your camshaft manufacturer or USA Performance Parts. We do carry optional springs for all of your needs.
