The BB-2 XTRA head works well on a 540 cu in or larger engine. It has a 365 cc intake port and flows over 375 cfm with only the bowls blended and the intake ports matched to the gasket. The rectangular port CNC head has 355cc intake runners and the CNC oval port has 351cc runners. The CNC heads flow over 400 cfm at .800 lift. For a flow chart click on Technical Information below.
While creating the BB-2 XTRA CNC, the professionals at BRODIX invested many long hours on the flow bench and at the track developing a completely ported cylinder head. BRODIX incorporated this porting design into a 100% CNC ported masterpiece that can be mass produced. One of the most accurate, best flowing out-of-the-box cylinder heads is now available. Each of the castings flow within 1% of each other and are CNC ported to a mirror finish. The bottom line is that our customers can now buy the best casting with the best CNC porting at the best price.
These have 26 degree valve angles same as stock GM big block heads and accept all standard pistons, intake manifolds, and rocker arms. The exhaust ports are raised .600 higher than stock. Valve cover rails are now raised to assure no oil leakage. These are also available with 1.645 OD triple springs.

Cams / Lifters /Timing Sets
On all complete assembly packages, it is very possible that the valve springs are not correct for your camshaft. All valve springs should be checked for compatibility to your camshaft. Severe wear of valve train components and severe engine damage could result from failure to do this. Check spring requirements before heads are installed on the engine. If in doubt please contact your camshaft manufacturer or USA Performance Parts. We do carry optional springs for all of your needs.
